The First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma, known in Tibet as Chökhor Düchen, is one of the four great Buddhist holy days. It commemorates the occasion when Buddha Shakyamuni first taught the Four Noble Truths at Sarnath, India, thereby setting the Wheel of Dharma in motion following his enlightenment.
