Dear Friends,
As the year of the wood snake draws to an end, we hope it has been one abounding in learning, growth and harmony. Our center, Kunzang Palchen Ling, remains steadfast in our mission to share the teachings of Terchen Barway Dorje with all who wish to practice. It continues to be our privilege and joy to be connected to our dear sangha in practice and fellowship.
Like proceeding years, 2025 saw KPL sustain its natural rhythm: Yamantaka Puja in the winter before Losar celebrations; Subtle Essence Vajrasattva Puja in the spring with the commemoration of the fourth year since our precious teacher Ven. Bardor Rinpoche’s parinirvana; and our dharma protector Atsara’s Puja in the fall.
Additionally, in March the seventh annual White Khechari Drupchö took place at KPL. In July, our center convened its first Vajrakilaya retreat. In late August, Vajracharya Lama Tashi Topgyal conferred the full Chenrezik empowerment cycle from the terma of Terchen Barway Dorje. The second year of our ongoing Dzogchen teachings, Flight of the Garuda, took place in late October to early November with participants remarking on the uplifting energy felt by all.
It is, of course, only through the expertise and dedication of our esteemed teachers Vajracharya Lama Tashi Topgyal, Lama Nyima, and Lama Yeshe Gyamtso that these programs, along with continuing ones such as the Songs of Barway Dorje, Clear Guidance on the Generation Stage, Nyungne retreats, Essence of Wisdom: Stages of the Path, Chenrezig/Guru yoga practice (with Beatrice Lin filling as umze when needed) and torma making workshops can be shared with our sangha. The KPL Study Group led by Michael Harris and seated meditation sessions led by Naomi Schmidt provide further outlets for study and practice. And it is, of course, only through the perseverance of practitioners like you that the Dharma remains a priority in the face of our busy world and life’s ups and downs.
We want to share our deepest thanks to everyone who has supported KPL over all these years. Thank you for your kindness towards our teachers and staff, and for keeping our center in your hearts. Thank you also for nurturing your own compassion and Buddha nature. Regardless of physical distance, we are always connected in our practice and in our care for each other.
We wish all our Dharma siblings
a healthy, peaceful and merry New Year!
May the dharma flourish in our hearts and in the world,
Kunzang Palchen Ling Board of Trustees
